My Skin, My Confidence –

My Skin, My Confidence

Ever since the last time when I publicly talk about my skin condition, many have approached me on their concerns on different skin conditions such as facial acne and breakouts that can cause scarring on skin.

Did you know that acne is amongst the most common skin conditions in Malaysia?

Many people experience acne but the severity of acne-prone skin is often disregarded and acne affects over 85% of individuals aged 12 to 24 in Malaysia.

Scarring, most of the time started by facial acne.
This was taken when I have acne & scars all over my face. T.T

I started having acne during my high school. But no one make any comment at the point of time, because it was perceived as very common among teenagers . Well, almost everyone have acne while growing up, it was not a big deal.

There is never a good time to experience acne and break outs because it is part of growing up process but having acne may result in post-acne scars on my face. We should not let these scars affect our quality of life. We should never take it too lightly, because when scars are left untreated, it can have a major impact on one’s quality of life.

I learned my lessons.

As I slowly grow up, and entered college, I realized all my friends have already get rid of their acne problems, and have crystal clear skin. That’s when I started to feel really embarrassed about my acne & scars.

What did I do?

I attempt to cover up all the “imperfections”.
Foundation is no longer useful, I applied concealer on my whole face! Yea, one tube of concealer only last me for a month max.

Acne & scarring changed my life.
From being a social butterfly, I started avoiding most of the social occasions due to low self-confidence.

I especially hated day events, because all my imperfections were exposed under the strong sun light. Hence, I walked with my head down most of the time because I didn’t like the way people look at my face. I am worried that they would notice the bumps & dark spots on my face under the layers of concealer.

& because I look “okay” after layers of concealer, everyone thinks that I have a good skin. How deceiving. *laugh*

It became a need for me to cover up the post-acne scars even though I am out for a short 30mins yumcha session with my friends and concealer had slowly became a necessity during the period. Here’s me with full make up on (plus, layers of concealer). Oh well.

Worst of all, I need to apply make-up, even when I am on vacation.
How pathetic.

That being said, I am utterly thankful that I have overcome my acne skin condition and finally recovered from post-acne scarring. Today, I can confidently walk out of my house with my naked face. 😀

Undeniably, there are chances of acne coming back once in a while during my menstrual cycle. It is also unavoidable that some acne may lead to scarring and leave post-acne scars on my face.

In my case, I no longer want to hide the scars caused by acne, but I chose to overcome them with Hiruscar Post Acne.
What’s Hiruscar Post Acne?

The first post-acne scar care product to be introduced in Malaysia, Hiruscar® Post Acne has been clinically tested to improve the appearance of acne scars, lighten dark marks and keep acne prone skin healthy.

In support of the recent Hiruscar Post Acne campaign, I recently shared my personal testimonial during the Hiruscar Post Acne ‘My Skin, My Confidence’ media launch!

One thing to takeaway here is that post acne scars & dark marks CAN BE treated using the right scar care product.

Hiruscar Post Acne has visited ten universities around Klang Valley to educate students about the formation of scars, helping them to break free from their scars and regain self-confidence. Hiruscar Post Acne also recently organised a two-day symposium with pharmacists in Bangsar and Johor Bahru.
